Always have Cake

You now have no excuses for why there is no dessert. This cake could not be any easier and Dories suggested options are brilliant.

Apple Option

  • I used 3 Granny Smith apples- finely sliced in wedges
  • instead of rum I used a butter tart liquor from Top Shelf Distillers/ 2 tablespoons- 30ml
  • I used a 9” springform pan instead of a regular cake pan

The Results

My rating of this recipe is 5 out of 5. This recipe is super easy and comes together very quickly. This cake is very similar to the famous French Yogurt Cake. This is the recipe I always give my daughter when she wants to bake a cake. Unfortunately she is not a baker but this recipe never fails. Message me if you would like the recipe.

I love all of Dories different options for this cake. To make a gluten-free option;

- 1 cup gluten- free flour mix (in bakery I use the gluten-free pizza mix from bulk foods)

- 1/2 cup almond meal

- 2 tablespoons amaretto

- add 3/4 cup fresh raspberries on top before baking

- sprinkle sliced almonds on top before baking
